Botox (or Dysport) are two cosmetic injectables which relax and weaken muscles near the injection point. Both of these injectables block a chemical known as acetylcholine. The neurotoxins relax muscles and reduce wrinkle formation.
Dysport is much less expensive
Although there are some significant differences between Dysport treatment and Botox, the cost of both treatments is almost the same. A Dysport unit costs approximately 1/3 of the price of a Botox. Both neuromodulators can be used to treat the same cosmetic issues.
Although the treatments cost very little, Dysport's results are quicker and last longer. A person will notice visible results in two to three days. A Dysport treatment may be less expensive than multiple Botox procedures.
It diffuses more
Botox, Dysport and Dysport have distinct effects on the skin. Botox can stay within the injection site longer and lasts for a longer time, while Dysport spreads better and covers more area. This allows for larger areas to be treated and requires fewer injections. Botox is not as effective as Dysport, however.

Botox and Dysport both have biologic processor proteins. These proteins protect the toxin from damage and ensure that it works properly. These proteins affect how and where the toxin can be injected.
It reduces glabella lines
Botox is an effective treatment for reducing frown lines (or glabellar) in the forehead. These lines appear above the eyebrows and are caused by the repeated movement of the brow muscles. This injectable treatment can reduce glabellar lines, and prevent new ones from forming. It also smoothens out existing lines.
Botox has a life expectancy of three to four years and requires minimal downtime. The effects can be seen within two to three weeks and last for up three to four month. The glabellar lines can also be treated with Juvederm. But like Botox, Juvederm does not prevent glabellar lines from forming in the first place. It works by smoothing existing glabellar lines and takes just 10 minutes. The injectable lasts up to four months and is the best treatment for stubborn lines.
It is more effective
Botox as well as Dysport can be used to treat wrinkles. However they do have differences. Botox can be used in smaller areas, such as the forehead. Dysport is more concentrated and spreads across a larger area. The main differences between the injectables are the dosage and the time it takes to work.
Both products can cause bruising/swelling and can also cause side effects. Dysport is a procedure that can be dangerous for patients. Although bruising and swelling can be expected, patients should not lay down immediately after receiving Dysport. Patients should not exercise for at minimum four hours after treatment. Both drugs are not remarkably different in how they work, but they differ structurally and molecularly, and some people might experience side effects from both.

It is safer
Both Dysport and Botox are both effective but they have their risks. Both injectables are safe but it is important that you discuss any potential risks with your doctor before you undergo treatment. Botulinumtoxicity is another potential side effect of these neurotoxins. It occurs when the injection spreads to other parts of your body.
Although the main ingredient is the same in both injections, the levels of trace proteins in each product make one treatment more efficient than the other. Both products are being further researched to find the safer and more effective. Botox takes longer to dry while the injections are quick. Once the injection is complete, you can leave your doctor's office.
